Collete Limberg

Collette Kay Glander was born in Milbank, South Dakota on October 24, 1941 to Carl and June Glander. She was the oldest of 4 children and spent her very early years in Chicago before moving to Watertown, South Dakota as a child. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1960 and then received a Bachelor of Science from Northern State Teachers College in 1962 and 1967. After graduating, she taught kindergarten in Renville, Minnesota. She married Dean Limberg on August 5, 1967 and together they moved to Granite Falls. She continued teaching until 1970 when she became a stay at home mom. In 1974, she and her family moved to Montevideo where she remained until her death. Collette enjoyed raising her two kids and attending their various events, being an active member of the First Congregational Church, remodeling and interior decorating, helping neighbors and friends, baking, refinishing antiques, camping, spending time with family, and the last two and a half years, lots of time with her only grandchild. On Thursday, December 6th, after a yearlong battle with cancer, Collette passed away at her home with her husband, son, daughter and granddaughter by her side. A private family service will be held at a later date with burial in the Milbank Cemetery. Collette is survived by her husband of 45 years, her son Clay of Montevideo, her daughter Danielle (& Kent Roeker) of Aberdeen, South Dakota, granddaughter Jennifer Roeker of Aberdeen, a grandchild due in May, her sister Jean (& Dennis) Linder of Watertown, South Dakota, brothers Terry (& Judy) Glander of Clinton, Iowa and Carl (& Carol) Glander of Brookings, South Dakota and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
