A limb has fallen from our family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived when I was strong. Christopher Guy Smith, age 78, of Minneapolis, passed away on December 15, 2019. Chris was born on October 19, 1941, son of Jean and Leslie. Chris attended St. James School, Shattuck- St Mary’s School, University High School and University of Minnesota. In college he worked as a doorman at the Women’s Club of Minneapolis where he met his wife, Beverly Miller, who worked as a coat room attendant. After working for Pako Corporation he went on to work for Northwest Airlines (now Delta) where he retired after 38 years of service. Chris is survived by his wife, Beverly, daughters Rochelle (Ron) Cossette, Corleen (Ismael) Smith, grandson Nicolas (Kaitlin) Smith, their children James, Henry and Sage as well as brother Tim (Pat) Smith, and nephews and nieces Jeffrey (Robin), Mike (Deb) and Neal (Stacy), Holly and Eric. Chris, an avid collector of all things interesting, had a love of travel, both international and local, and always enjoyed taking the back road which would often lead to many great photographs or an estate sale to expand his various collections of antiques and books. A Graveside Service will be held, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Strombeck Cemetery, rural Montevideo. Memorials preferred to Strombeck Cemetery, Montevideo, MN.
