Cheryl Boike, 77, of Clara City, passed away on Saturday, September 30,2023, at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6th at 10:30 am at Bethany Reformed Church. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 7:00pm at Bethany Reformed Church and will continue one hour prior to services on Friday.
Cheryl Fay (Wilkens) Boike was born on July 21, 1946, to Cornelius and Evangeline (te Grotenhuis) Wilkens in Sheldon, Iowa. She was the oldest of two children.
Cheryl went to school in Iowa until moving to Minnesota in 1958. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1964.
Cheryl was united in marriage to Dennis Boike on May 6, 1966, at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. They made their home in Willmar, Minnesota where Cheryl worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until 1968. She stayed at home raising her family until working at Bethany Reformed Church as a secretary retiring in 2000. Following retirement, she worked part time at the Ed Linden dental office in Clara City.
Cheryl loved gardening and anything flowers. She loved music and had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s activities over the years. They were her pride and joy.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Dennis; Children Chad (special friend, Lauri) Boike, Ryan (JoEllen) Boike, Dawn (Bruce) Johnson and Kyle (Nikki) Boike; five grandchildren; Daniel, Isaac, Noah, Sabryn and Leah; two step grandchildren Owen and Natalie; one brother Roger (Linda) Wilkens and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
