Charles Calvin Williams was born September 25, 1948 in Granite Falls, the son of Juel and Ella Williams. After a courageous battle with cancer, Charlie passed away on April 10, 2013 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital.He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith and later was baptized as a adult at Community Bible Church in Montevideo.Charlie lived in Wisconsin and Michigan before moving back to Granite Falls where he graduated from high school. He went on to continue his education at Hamline University before enlisting in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home and later finished his education graduating from the University of Minnesota Morris. On October 16, 1986 Charlie was united in marriage to Lynn Roberts at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. To this union one son, Joshua Charles, was born.Charlie was a jack of all trades. Among many things, he was a self-employed carpenter and then a long term supervisor at Jennie-O. He was an active member at Community Bible Church, and MENSA. Charlie was a railroad enthusiast and acted in plays. He participated in the Million Man March in Washington D.C. and took part in a mission trip to Belize. Charlie especially enjoyed spending time with his ?best buddy? Josh.Charlie is survived by his wife of over 25 years Lynn Williams of Montevideo; son Josh Williams of Montevideo; mother: Ella Williams of Montevideo; siblings: James (Kathy) Williams of Des Moines, Iowa; Rosemary Sweet of Montevideo; Gary (Mary) Williams of Apple Valley; Brian (Kathy) Williams of Montevideo; in-laws: Janice (Todd) Much of Chicago, Illinois; Steve (Lana) Roberts of Fargo; Julie Roberts (Anita Berg) of Minneapolis; Cathy (Greg) Brower of Eden Prairie; and several nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his father, Juel, mother-in-law Betty Roberts, father-in-law Henry Roberts and brother-in-law Marc Roberts.
