Charles Michael Serna, 29, of Montevideo, passed away suddenly the evening of June 24, 2017, in St. Louis Park.
Charles, or Charlie, to those who knew him, was born Jan. 13, 1988, in Minneapolis to Debra Serna and Dale Fransisco. While attending grade school, Charlie lived a majority of his life in the Montevideo area. While living in Osseo, with his father, he obtained his GED and continued his education at Hennepin Technical College, where he studied machining.
Charles loved to spend free time fishing with family and friends. He was an avid music lover, who attended concerts frequently. Although he never had children of his own, kids adored him. This larger-than-life man, with the giant smile, was always willing to drop everything and go out of his way to help anyone. To know Charles, was to love him. His heart was pure gold.
He is survived by his mother, Debra Serna (and Jamie), of Montevideo; father, Dale Fransisco, of Minneapolis; grandparents, Victoria Serna of Fergus Falls, Dino Serna (and Natalie) of Arizona, and Carol and Rick Martineau, of Columbia Heights; uncle, Dean Serna of Fergus Falls; aunt, Tammy O’Connor, of Minneapolis; sister, Kirbi Serna, of Minneapolis; and brothers, Deven (and Sabrina) Current, and Robert Fransisco, of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
