Charlene Brettin

Charlene Renee Brettin was born on Nov. 7, 1955, in Granite Falls, MN the daughter of Leonard and Arlene Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from the Granite Falls High School.
She was to be married on Jan. 25, 1975, in Granite Falls, but a massive blizzard forced her and her fiancé Thomas Brettin to be married on the 26th. To this union two sons were born Bryan and Brad.
Charlene always placed others before herself. She dearly loved her family and was so proud of her sons and her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, knitting, helping her sons with their school work, canning, shopping and spending time with her family. She was the most wonderful and loving mother, wife and grandmother.
Charlene was called from this world at the young age of 60 years, following a lengthy illness. She died peacefully while a resident of the Granite Falls Manor on Monday March 7, 2016.
Surviving family include her husband Thomas of Granite Falls, MN; her two sons- Bryan (& Molly) Brettin of Hudson, WI and Brad (& Tanya) Brettin of Monticello, MN; her grandchildren- Olivia & Brady Brettin; her siblings- Richard (& Debbie) Hanson of Milan, MN, Judy (& Jerry) Wangsness of Glenwood, MN, Joyce (& Gene) Iverson of Granite Falls, MN and Cheryl Christiansen also of Granite Falls, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
