Carolyn Ann (Poss) Brix was born September 17, 1928, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Harold and Alma (Erlandson) Poss. She passed away July 24, 2017, at the Clara City Care Center.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Franklin. Carolyn graduated from Franklin high school and continued her education at College of St. Catherine. She went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in home economics.
Carolyn accepted a teaching position with the Kimball School District in 1951 and taught there for a year.
On August 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Brix at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Franklin. To this union four children were born.
In 1955 they made their home in Clara City where she cared for the home and raised the children. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, cooking, and bird watching. She was active with music at St. Clara Catholic Church serving as organist, playing the piano, and occasionally singing for weddings and funerals. Carolyn belonged to Christian Mothers and received the Bishop’s Medal of Service.
She is survived by her husband: Bob Brix; children, Judy (Mike) Ricart, Jane (Steve) Stromme, Cathy (Jeff) Johnson, Tony Brix; grandchildren: Cameron (Nikki) Stromme, Blake (Kiah) Stromme, Noel Stromme, Lindsey Ricart, David Ricart, Aaron Lindstedt; great-grandchild: Stella Stromme; brother: Peter (Emilie) Poss; sisters-in-law: Alene Poss and Barb Poss.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Harold and Alma Poss; brothers: Jim Poss, Paul Poss, and Tony (Eleanor) Poss.
