Caroline Tebben

Caroline Johanna Tebben was born on August 24, 1915 in Clara City, MN the daughter of Joseph and Johanna Bush. She attended school in Clara City and in 1938, graduated High School Salutatorian. While in high school, Caroline played basketball and was captain her senior year. On Feb. 26, 1937, Caroline was united in marriage to John L. Tebben. They farmed west of Clara City for 8 years and then moved north to Louriston Township for four years. In the fall of 1948, Caroline & John purchased a farm near Kerkhoven on which they lived and farmed for 41 years. During their last few years on the farm they enjoyed spending time in Tucson, AZ. They eventually moved into Clara City in 1990. Caroline enjoyed her life on the farm and raising her family. She liked gardening, gathering eggs, cooking, baking and in the lean years, making clothing from used grain sacks. She also enjoyed embroidering and was a faithful member of Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Even though Caroline was getting on in years, she always maintained her strong spirit and clever mind. She was called peacefully from this life while at Apple Valley Villa in Apple Valley, MN sometime during the late hours of Thursday June 4, 2009. She was 93 years of age. Surviving family include her two sons- Gerald (& Mavis) Tebben of Prinsburg, MN and Dennis (& Barbara) Tebben of Apple Valley, MN; a twin sister- Clara Fokken of Long Beach CA; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother Jake; one sister- Lorraine and a daughter-in-law, Eunice (Feldman) Tebben.
