Burdell George Johnson was born December 15, 1933 in Granite Falls the son of George and Mabel (Gautefall) Johnson. He passed away December 28, 2013 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 80 years. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. He grew up and attended school in Granite Falls graduating from Granite Falls High School. Burdell proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge in 1958. On June 2, 1962 Burdell was united in marriage to Ardyce Holien at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Two children were born to this union. He worked at Victor Fluid Power as a machinist for close to 40 years. After retiring, Burdell enjoyed antique collecting, going to auctions and rummage sales. He was well known for his visiting and his antiques and also enjoyed having lunch with friends at the Montevideo Community Center. Burdell is survived by Ardyce, his wife of over 50 years; daughter: Lorie Johnson of Apple Valley; son: Todd Johnson of Apple Valley; sister: Irma Schulte of Granite Falls; nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Mabel; brother: Wally Johnson and brother-in-law Leland Schulte.
