Beverly “Bev” Kay Weerheim Sneller was born to Ralph and Geneva (DeBoer) Weerheim on January 29, 1949, at Rock Rapids, Iowa. Her family moved to Sibley, Iowa, where she attended the Sibley Christian School until third grade when they moved to a farm by Rock Rapids. Bev completed the 8th grade at the Rock Rapids Christian School and then Central Lyon High School, graduating in 1966.
After high school Bev worked at the Albright Abstract Company for two years before moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She worked at the National Bank of South Dakota for six years until meeting her future husband, Evan Sneller. They were married on October 11, 1974, and lived on the farm with Evan’s parents by Hazel Run, Minnesota. To this union two children were born; Angela “Angie” and Robb.
Bev was able to be a stay at home mom until Robb started school. She then worked at the Granite Falls Bank for six years before beginning her 25 year career at Project Turnabout in Granite Falls. She enjoyed the employment immensely and retired in December 2014. She volunteered her time and talents with the Blanket Ministry and Red Cross Blood Drive.
Bev was active in church activities; playing piano and organ for many years and being a part of children’s choirs and adult choir. Her musical talent was a gift to her church. After retirement Bev and Evan did more traveling; visiting many states and seeing lots of country. Bev also enjoyed reading, adult coloring, and especially loved watching her children and eventually her grandchildren, in their many activities. She was quick to help and cared deeply for others.
