Beulah Roeske, age 93, of Granite Falls, died Thursday at the Granite Falls Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10 AM at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls. Burial will be held at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens in Montevideo. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9-10 AM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Beulah M. E. Heen was born May 2, 1924, to Andrew and Abbie (Johnson) Heen in Wang Township, Renville County, Minnesota. Beulah began her schooling at District #44 in Wang Township and graduated from Maynard High School with the Class of 1942.
After graduating, Beulah attended teacher training at Canby, Minnesota. She began teaching at country schools such as School District #65, in Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County. Beulah was dedicated to teaching and learning. After many years of attending summer school, she proudly obtained her Bachelor’s Degree. Through the years, she taught elementary grades in Boyd, Madison, Walker, and Worthington, Minnesota
On June 5, 1949, Beulah married David Roeske at Luverne, Minnesota. They lived in Boyd, Walker, Worthington, and moved to Granite Falls when they retired. The couple shared 43 years together before David passed away in 1992. In 2002, Beulah married Gerald Munsen of rural Montevideo. Gerald passed away in 2016.
Beulah loved music and shared her talent with others. She played piano and organ for the Sunday services at her church and local nursing homes.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Warren, and sister, Ardelle, She is survived by her sister, Harriet, of Aurora, Colorado, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to the First Baptist Church of Granite Falls.
