Bernice Roe

Bernice SyBella Roe was born in Montevideo, Minnesota, on January 28, 1928. She passed away on October 29, 2011 at the Granite Falls Manor. She was the first of two children born to Ole and Alice Anderson. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1945 and attended St. Cloud Teachers College where she received her two year degree in elementary education. Her teaching career began at Maynard Public School where she taught till 1954.Bernice was united in marriage with Roy Roe on July 3, 1949 and to that union two children were born.From 1964 to 1973 she taught at Wood Lake Public Schools. After retiring from teaching, Bernice enjoyed time at home, traveling with her husband, and in her later years enjoyed being around her grandchildren.Bernice is survived by her son David Roe of Granite Falls; daughter Brenda (Michael) Thews of Coon Rapids; grandchildren: Ethan Roe of Duluth; Erica (Matt) Borst of Shakopee; David Thews of Washington, D.C.; Andrew Thews of Coon Rapids.She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1995; parents Ole and Alice; brother- Leland and numerous other in-laws.
