Bernice

Bernice Kathryn Larson was born on Monday, June 13, 1921 in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Nettie Nelson. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on July 3, 1921 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She grew up and attended school in Montevideo graduating with the class of 1941.On July 20, 1947 Bernice was united in marriage to Haven Larson Sr. in Montevideo. This union was blessed with three children. She and Haven made their home in Montevideo. Bernice was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother caring for the house and raising her children.She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active with ladies aid. Bernice enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her friends. Her gardens provided many hours of relaxation and she loved showing them to family and friends. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 1, 2009, Bernice was called from this life to be with her Lord in His heavenly kingdom. She was 87 years of age. Bernice is survived by her children: Haven Jr. (& Linda) Larson of Glenwood, Minnesota; Gaylen (& Ruperta) Larson of Parshall, North Dakota; Rebecca (& Ron) Hendrickson of Montevideo, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren: Nick Larson, Cory (& Megan) Larson, Melissa Rorvig, Stacy (& Jeff) Knutson, Craig (& Kari) Hendrickson, Rodney Larson, Justin Larson, and Lesley Larson; great grandchildren; Zach, Cody, Haley, Alec, Jack, Autumn, Ashton, Tawny, Tristan, Creighton, Rebekah, Michael and Belle Rose, her brother: Donald (& Carol) Nelson of Granite Falls, Minnesota; her sisters: Jane Flannigan of Chicago, Illinois; Delores Zieg of Friend, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Nettie, her husband Haven Sr. in 2005, two sisters and a brother in infancy.
