Barbara Jean Agre was born July 11, 1945, in Montevideo, the daughter of Alfred & Lorraine (Rittland) Moseng. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Baxter. Barb graduated from the Montevideo High School with the Class of 1963. Following high school she worked at Luther Haven.
Barb was united in marriage with Thomas Agre on May 28, 1966, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Baxter. They made their home in Sacred Heart before moving to Granite Falls soon after. Barb was passionate about the Congregation of Granite Falls Lutheran Church and volunteered her time and talents throughout the years to any and all individuals and groups needing her assistance. She truly considered the entire Congregation as an extension of her family.
In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and had a great reputation for her cakes and desserts. She also had a fascination with watching and feeding birds, with cardinals being her favorite. Barb loved all things gardening, both flowers and vegetables, and took great pride in what she planted around her house each Spring. Her grandsons were a great source of joy for Barb and she loved sharing news from them with her friends and family. Barb also enjoyed bowling right up to the very end as a part of the Friday Early Risers Bowling League in Montevideo.
She is survived by her husband Tom, daughter Jodi (Steve) Petersen of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Derek (Katie) Lalim of Otsego, Aaron Lalim of Killdeer, North Dakota, and Grant (Abby) Lalim of Granite Falls; siblings: Leroy Moseng of Montevideo, Shannon Preckel of Virginia and Gene (Bernice) Moseng of Montevideo; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
