Audrey Carlson, 81, of Granite Falls passed away on Friday May 7th at the Granite Falls Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11th at 1 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls. Visitation will begin at 11 am and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Audrey Mae Carlson was born April 23, 1940, the daughter of William and Hazel (Harvey) Carlson in Wheaton. She was baptized and confirmed in Wheaton. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1958. She continued her education at St. Cloud State, majoring in accounting.
Audrey was united in marriage to Evan “Cubby” Oscarson on March 31, 1962, in Wheaton. They moved to San Bernardino, California in 1963. She moved to San Diego in 1975 and took more accounting classes at Miramar College. She was employed at “A” Company. In 1999, she moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota where she worked in the Auditors office at the Chippewa County Courthouse. She moved to Granite Falls so she was able to spend more time with her mother.
Audrey loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting and cooking.
Audrey passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Granite Falls Care Center. She was 81 years of age.
She is survived by her children: Robyn Spikes of San Diego, California, Rick Oscarson of Granite Falls, Rebecca Vigil of Granite Falls, Nancy (Mike) Metzer of Pensacola, Florida and Debra Oscarson of Granite Falls; nine grandchildren: Garrett (Alyssa) Vigil, Christopher Metzer, Jesicca (David) Elgier, Ashley (Efrain Jr.) Rivera, Joshua (Kelsey) Metzer, Chandler Rodriguez, MaCayla Spikes, Sydnee Skjefte and Sylvia Skjefte; ten great grandchildren; sister Nancy Aus of Granite Falls; and several nieces nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Carlson.
