Arthur Ostendorf

Arthur Lee ‘Art’ Ostendorf was born on January 19, 1939, in Clara City, MN, the son of John and Elizabeth ‘Lilly’ (Aeikens) Ostendorf. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended school in Clara City.
On September 4, 1959, Art was united in marriage to Donna Mae Pittman in the Bethany Reformed Church parsonage. They made their home in Crate Township where they farmed for 11 years. Art then drove livestock truck for Fritz Trucking of Clara City and also worked for Cenex hauling fertilizer. In the fall, he also helped local farmers with their harvest and field operations.
Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife/animals and all types of tractors. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends. In the afternoon hours of Tuesday January 5, 2016, Art was called peacefully from this life while a patient at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. He was 76 years of age.
His surviving family includes his children- Laura Schultz, Lorna Ostendorf and Karla (& Dean) Rice; grandchildren- Sandra and Craig; 5 great grandchildren; 3 siblings- Gene, Jimmy and Mardelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna in 2007; a brother Stanley and his daughter Cheryl in 1987.
