Arnold Eugene Steffens was born in Minnesota and lived in Clara City, where he spent most of his life farming north of Clara City. After farming for a number of years he injured his back and could no longer do the hard work that it required. Then he moved into Clara City and lived in town for a number of years. He became ill and moved into an assisted living facility until the time of his death.
Arnie enjoyed farming, it was a big part of his life. When he had time, he enjoyed hunting with his dad, Louis Steffens. They spent a lot of time together deer hunting and just driving around out in the country. Both of them enjoyed nature and loved the outdoors!
He was so very proud of both of his sons and made sure that they were always taken care of. They were always # 1 to him. He knew that both of his sons would succeed in life and he was real proud of both of them. Since they both lived some distance away, he wasn’t able to see them as often as he would have liked to, but they were always in contact with each other.
Arnie always took interest in nature, loved being outdoors and would always offer to help others when needed.
He is survived by two sons: Christopher (Jessica) Steffens of LeMars, Iowa and Jason Steffens of Savage; two grandchildren: Lydia & Parker; brother Ronald (Diane) Steffens of Renville; sister-in-law Cora Steffens of Wadena and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Clarence, Kenneth and Louis.
