Arnold Leroy Johnson

Arnold LeRoy Johnson was born January 5, 1935 in Grace Township, the son of Henry and Lena (Gimmestad) Johnson. He passed away Friday morning, October 3rd at the Granite Falls Manor.
He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock. Arnie was confirmed at Maynard Lutheran Church and attended school in Maynard.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and received his honorable discharge in 1953. On December 5, 1954, Arnie was united in marriage to Evelyn Sulflow in Maynard. To this union, six children were born.
He worked as an over the road truck driver for companies such as Fritz Trucking, Midwest Trucking, Kanstrup Trucking, and Groothuis Trucking. Arnie was a member of Maynard Lutheran Church and the Maynard American Legion. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Arnie is survived by his wife Evelyn of Maynard, children: Beverly (Rick) Saatzer of St. Cloud; Michael (Linda) Johnson of Monticello; Jimmy (Debbie) Johnson of Litchfield; Vicki Wipper of Clearwater; Gary Johnson of Maynard; Jody (Steven) Mulder of Raymond; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister: Joyce (Richard) McJunkin of Charlottesville, Virginia; brother: Larry Johnson of Maynard; sisters-in-law: Ellsworth ( Violet) Molden of Holmes City; Janet Winters of Montevideo; Lois Emmert of New London; and brother-in-law Roger (Donna) Mork of Siren, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lena Johnson, and in-laws: Erick and Maeda Sulflow; son-in-law: Tom Wipper, brothers-in-law: Ray Emmert and Harold Winters.
