Armando Vargas, 65, of Montevideo, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at his residence. Memorial services will be held in Texas at a later date.
Armando Vargas was born April 12, 1958, the son of Jose & Jacinta (Mendoza) Vargas in Weslaco, Texas. He graduated from the Weslaco High School. Armando spent the summer months working in Minnesota and would return to Texas in the fall of the year.
In 2006 his family remained in Minnesota and he began working security for Friendship Homes. During the summer months he also helped out at the Migrant School. The last few years he worked in the maintenance department at Wal-Mart.
He cherished his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Maria Luisa, children: Armando II (Hayley) of Madison, Fernando and Lianette; grandchildren: Armando III, Aurora and Millie; siblings: Guadalupe (Armando) Garza, Celia (George) Zepeda, Janie (Eugene) Strilchuk, Carmen (Mike) Duron, Gloria Vargas, Josefina Garcia; Joe Vargas, Robert Vargas and Mario Vargas; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Adela Mireles.
