Arleigh Jeseritz

March 19, 1921 — August 23, 2008

Arleigh was born March 19, 1921, the son of Charles & Martha Jeseritz on the home farm in Minnesota Falls Township, Yellow Medicine County. He was baptized on April 10, 1921 and confirmed on March 25, 1934 at St. JohnÂ?s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. He attended country school. Arleigh was united in marriage to Vivian Mae Reinke on October 22, 1944, at the United Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Together they farmed on the home place where Arleigh was born. He enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing, reading Early American History, watching all sports, especially football and spending time with his family. The Yellow Medicine River, which ran through the farm, held a very special place in his life. He enjoyed walking along the bank of the river and for 65 years he worked for the National Weather Service tracking precipitation and water levels of the Yellow Medicine River. He was a lifelong member of St. JohnÂ?s Lutheran Church where he served as Church Elder. Arleigh passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Granite Manor. He was 87 years old.He is survived by his wife Vivian; three children: Sandee (Jerry) Sader of Mankato; Jilane (Jerry) Binstock of Good Thunder; and Randy Jeseritz of Granite Falls; seven grandchildren: Michael (Kelli) Binstock, Michele (Michael) Zinke, Corey (Wendy) Sader, Angela (Keith) Aune, Karin Sader (Joshua Ernst), Nicole (Mike) Lokken and Tanya Jeseritz; nine great grandchildren: Amanda, Marissa and Matthew Binstock, McKenzie & Tori Jeseritz, Madison Jeseritz, Ava Aune, Carter Ernst and Drew Sader; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Orva (Ervin) Markgraf and Elvera (Murl) Renneke; and three grandchildren.
