Ardis Mahon, 86, of Granite Falls, died Friday, January 31st at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 6th at 10:30 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Ardis Bertha Mahon was born June 17, 1933, the daughter of Emil and Myrtle (Narvestad) Magnuson, in Montevideo, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She graduated from the Granite Falls High School in 1952
Following graduation, she worked at the Red Owl Grocery Store. On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ivan Mahon at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Granite Falls.
They lived in Slayton where she worked at the Super Valu Store. In 1966, they returned to Granite Falls, where she worked as a cook in the elementary school cafeteria. She retired in 1995.
She enjoyed camping, word find puzzles, playing cards, reading and embroidering. She especially enjoyed embroidering dish towels and donated a set every year for the St. Andrew CCW Fall Fair raffle table. She was very proud of all the extra work she put into them. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan, always keeping track of the scores for each game.
Ardis and Ivan were also able to take two Jay Buckley Baseball Tours which she really enjoyed. Visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on one of those trips was a highlight of hers.
Ardis was active in the VFW Auxiliary, St. Andrew CCW and St. Andrew Prayer Partners.
Ardis passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital on January 31, 2020, at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by her children: Monica (Darrell) Leach of Clinton, Utah, Tom (Karen) Mahon of Wichita, Kansas and Teresa Mahon of Granite Falls; granddaughters: Amber (Erick) Hall, Heather Leach, Samantha Mahon and Taylor Mahon; great granddaughters: Maddison and Ava; nephews: Johnny (Kay) Magnuson, Steve Magnuson and Ronald Magnuson; and niece Sharol (Craig) Opdahl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan on June 11, 2006, brother Edgar “Pork” Magnuson and sister-in-law LaVilla Magnuson.
