Ardell "Andy" Kjersten

Ardell was born on Feb. 6, 1945, in Montevideo, MN, the son of Glen and Ardis (Hegna) Kjersten. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Sacred Heart, MN at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School and on June 2, 1973, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Beavers in Sacred Heart, MN.
Andy was a hardworking, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He drove truck for 45 years and put over a million miles under his belt. He retired at age 62 and enjoyed going to his grandson’s ball games and his granddaughter’s activities.
Physical ailments caught up with Andy and in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, Andy was called peacefully from this life while a patient at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital. He was 70 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Barb of Granite Falls, MN; his mother Ardis Kjersten of Sacred Heart, MN; his sons- Scott (& Pam) Kjersten of Renville, MN and Mark Kjersten of Sacred Heart, MN; grandchildren- Katelyn & Trent Kjersten; his brother- Terry (& Mary) Kjersten of Sacred Heart, MN; his sister- Jan Feldman of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother-in-law Hazel Beavers of Granite Falls, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Preceding Andy in death were his father Glen Kjersten; his father-in-law Arbie Beavers and his grandparents.
