Anna Marie Seeman, age 94, of Clara City, Minnesota passed away on Sunday April 17, 2022, at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City with interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on one hour prior to the service at the church.
Anna Marie Seeman was born to Ben and Lucy Hinrichs on November 25, 1927 on a farm at Adrian, Minnesota. She was baptized in Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa on July 1, 1928. After her father died in 1929, her mother, Lucy married John F. Asche in 1931. The family moved to Raymond, Minnesota in 1932. She attended school at District 47 in Louriston Township, and graduated from Clara City High School in 1945. After graduation she attended Franklin Hospital School of Nursing graduating as an LPN in 1946; and then worked at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota.
On February 22, 1947 Anna Marie married Donald A. Seeman and they raised four sons. She was employed as an LPN at the Clara City Nursing Home from 1966 to 1999. Anna Marie was a devoted member of Bethany Reformed Church. She was active in church choir, taught Sunday school, and was a past chairman of Ladies Aid. Anna Marie also volunteered for Red Cross Bloodmobile, was a Cub Scout den mother, mended clothes for the Dry Cleaners, and waitressed at Ernies City Tavern.
In her retired years, Anna Marie crocheted (especially 100’s of name doilies). She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, and creating family scrapbooks. Her favorite past times were spent fishing and camping in the trailer up north and taking road trips with family and friends.
Anna Marie is survived by her sons, Donald (Judy Ballard) Seeman of Osage, John (Marie) Seeman of Marshall, Vernon (Pat) Seeman of Clara City, Curtis Seeman of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Young of Champlin, Michele (Doug) Ramler of Lino Lakes, Nicholas (Lori Benkowski) Seeman of St. Joseph, Jason (Emily) Seeman of Tea, SD, Harmony (Nick) Smith of Plymouth; great grandchildren, Maxwell, Haleyna and Hudson Young; Holly Benveniste, Aurora and Emberly Smith, Nolan and Grace Seeman; her siblings, Dorothy (Ronnie) Gerdes of Crosslake, Fred (Joan) Asche of Manterville; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Anna Marie is preceded in death by her father, Ben; her mother, Lucy; stepfather, John; husband, Donald in 1997; granddaughters, Heather Dawn Seeman and Heidi Seeman; great granddaughter, Clara Marie Smith; daughter-in-law, Theresa Seeman; brothers, Wilbert Hinrichs, Louie Hinrichs; sisters, Alice Zimmer, Cleo Theessen.
