Ann Mary Danielson was born on January 27, 1918, on the family farm two miles north of Clara City. She was the daughter of John and Mary Tammen. Ann was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. She attended elementary and high school in Maynard, graduating in 1935. Ann attended St. Cloud State Teacher's College and Beauty College in Minneapolis. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Dawson.On September 10, 1939, Ann was united in marriage to Don G. Danielson at her parent's home. They moved from Dawson to their farm near Maynard in 1942 and for many years Ann was a successful Avon representative. Following Don's retirement in 1979, they moved to Clara City. They enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ. Ann continued wintering in Arizona until two years ago. In November, 2009 she moved to her apartment in Prairie Park Place in Clara City.Ann loved to host dinner parties for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading and traveling and was active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, in Bible Study, Ladies Aide and Church Circle activities.In the evening hours of Monday, December 26, 2011, Ann was called peacefully from this life while under hospice care at the Clara City Care Center. She was 93 years of age.She is survived by her two daughters- Betty (Philip) Schmalz of Rochester and Mary (David) Nickel of Minneapolis; four grandchildren- Ann Nickel Hage (Lee), Libby Nickel, Jonathan Schmalz and Kathryn Schmalz; two great grandchildren- Mary Helen Hage and Grace Marie Hage; several nieces, nephews and extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don (in 1990) and one sister, Mary "Mickey" Schall (died 12/13/11).
