Anita Nelson was born on December 23, 1925, the daughter of Albert & Ida (Johnson) Nelson in Florida Township, Yellow Medicine County. She was baptized by Rev. GS Froiland. Anita attended District #26 for five years and District #47 for three years. Anita graduated from the Madison High School with the Class of 1944.
Anita lived in Manfred Township with her parents for many years. In 1972, she moved to Montevideo and began working for the Ben Franklin Store on Main Street. She was there eight years. She then was employed by Arneson Drug Store for twenty-six years. Anita enjoyed her work with Dave and Pam Arneson and the employees. She always said they were like her family.
Anita moved to Luther Haven on October 24, 2016, and passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on February 27, 2018. She was 92 years of age. She was a beloved Aunt and friend to all.
Anita is survived by her nieces: Eloise (Dale) Tufto of Dawson; Nancy (Walt) Amble of Hastings and Val (Doug) Ascher of Plymouth; nephews: Harlan (Betty) Parker of Fayetteville, Georgia and Irv (Mary) Parker of Plymouth and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ella Parker, Clara Wester and Inga Wendingstad and great nephew Reggie Wendingstad. Blessed be her memory.
