Alyce Mae Lemke was born on April 4, 1935 in Clarkfield, MN, the daughter of Henry & Jenny (Ellefson) Gjerdahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Hanley Falls, Clarkfield and Granite Falls. On November 14, 1959, Alyce was united in marriage to Kermit Lemke in South Dakota. During her active years, Alyce worked at the Red Owl Store in Granite Falls, the Tri-County Café, Home Health and the Granite Falls Manor. She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved to do crossword puzzles and read. In the early morning hours of Monday October 20, 2008, Alyce was called from this life while a resident of the Granite Falls Manor. She was 73 years of age. Surviving Alyce are her husband Kermit of Granite falls, MN; two daughters- Deanna Lemke also of Granite Falls, MN and Twyla Brown of St. Paul, MN; two sisters- Verna Wilson of Blomkest, MN and Irene Wood of Toledo, OH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters- Helen Roe and Ruth Gjerdahl; two brothers- Roy Gjerdahl and Jerry Gjerdahl; and infant daughter and two infant sons.
