Adeline Leona Twedt was born September 3, 1928, the daughter of John & Adina (Abraham) Wittenberg in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was baptized on September 16, 1928, in Brighton Township and confirmed on April 23, 1945 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. She attended school in Lafayette and later Winthrop. Adeline worked in Glencoe and then moved to Granite Falls where she worked as a waitress. She was united in marriage to Joy Charles Twedt on April 16, 1955, in Webster, South Dakota. Adeline loved her family and her work and really cared about the people. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and reading. Adeline passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at the Granite Falls Manor. She was 79 years old. She is survived by her sons: Craig of Hopkins and Charles (Kari) of Granite Falls; three grandchildren: Krystal (Dave) Lien, Amber and Nathan; one great grandchild: Davyn; one sister Violet Brown (special friend Woody Anderberg) of Litchfield; four brothers: Walter (June) Wittenberg of Litchfield; Edward Wittenberg of Buffalo; Rudy (Ellie) Wittenberg of Glencoe and Edwin (Verda) Wittenberg of Glencoe; sister-in-law Hazel Wittenberg of Litchfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joy; grandson Dustin; two sisters: Helen Wittenberg & Adelia Pleisies and four brothers: Elmer, George, Arthur & Andrew.
