Thomas Maroney, 84 of Clara City, formerly of Maynard, passed away at his residence on Friday, November 13, 2020. Services will be held Saturday, June 26th at 11am at Maynard Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Thomas Adam Maroney was born October 2, 1936, the son of John & Margaret “Susan” Maroney. He was baptized and took his first communion in the Catholic Church. He attended school and graduated from the Maynard High School in 1954. Following graduation Tom served his country in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in January of 1957.

Tom was united in marriage to Shirley Hubel on January 17, 1958, in Mankato. They lived in Worthington, where he worked as a salesman. This is where they started their family. They then moved to Storm Lake, Iowa in 1959, where they added two to more to their clan. In 1962, they moved to Maynard as Tom purchased the Standard Station and they completed their family. He also drove school bus for over 40 years for the Maynard Public School District. Tom was a member of the Maynard American Legion for over 50 years.
Shirley and Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Tom passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at his residence. He was 84 years of age.

He is survived by his children: Jody (Scott) McConkey of St. Clair, Melanie (Paul) Tysver of Fergus Falls, Patrick (Chrissy) Maroney of Montevideo and Shawn (Kathy) Maroney of Montevideo; grandchildren: Adam (Kelsey) McConkey, Lauren (Tony) Mendez, Ian McConkey, Kalin (Jamie) Amundson, Shauna (Andy) Loxtercamp, Chelsea Maroney (fiancé Joshua Fenske), Jaden Maroney (special friend Jasmine), Zachary Maroney, Ryan Maroney and Kailey Maroney; great grandchildren: Dominick Mendez, Isabella Amundson, Claire Amundson, Keegan Amundson, Aubrey Loxtercamp, Ava Loxtercamp, Jack Loxtercamp and Carter Maroney; sister Diane Westendrop of Litchfield, brother Tim (Jan) Maroney of Havre, Montana; in-laws: Kenneth (Roberta) Hubel of Pittsfield, Maine; Dave (Jerri) Hubel of Montevideo and Dianne (Gene) Goldenstein of Granite Falls; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shirley.
