Richard Anderson, 79, of Granite Falls, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Avera Granite Falls Hospital. Memorial service will be held on Monday June 26th at 11am at the Granite Falls United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 to 7 pm at UCC and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday.

Dick was born on July 16, 1943 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Walter & Mable (Tucker) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Trimont, Minnesota. Dick attended school and graduated from Trimont in 1961. He then attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and after that went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry graduating in 1970. Upon graduation Dick began his career in dentistry in Granite Falls practicing until his retirement in 2010.

Dick and Sharon were married in 1980 forming a blended family of 7 children. Dick enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in their many activities. He loved the hobby farm they lived on and even enjoyed ending his day after dental work shoveling manure! Dick enjoyed all types of puzzles and sports. Dick loved Dentistry and especially his staff and patients.

Dick leaves behind his wife, Sharon and children Deborah Buckeridge, Kristen (Marc) Heffern, David (Kimberly) Anderson, Bradley (Amanda) Hall, Barbara (Bradley) Jacobson, Thomas (Abby) Hall, grandchildren Nolan & Natalie Heffern, Keilah & Luke Anderson, Brett & Barry Jacobson, Jennifer (Ryan Butera) Hall, Angela (Brandon) Liston, Jerry (Beth) Hall, Tina (Paul) Blissenbach, Tonya Hall, Nichole (Joseph) Fackelman, Thomas (Nichole) Hall, Brandon Hall; and great-grandchildren Hailey & Alexander Liston, Riley, Kacey & Skyler Hall, Cameron & Sonya Blissenbach, Colton & Zachary Fackelman, Alayna, Kiana, Mya Peltola and Emersyn, and Brynlee Hall sister Judy (Ron) Hewitt, sisters in law Linda (Tom) Bukowski and Pamela Peterson and cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Hall, sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bob Skalbeck, and brother-in-law Larry Peterson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Granite Falls United Church of Christ and will be donated to missions.
