Patricia Bakker, 88, of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Granite Falls Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16th at 10:30 am at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Patricia Ellen Bakker was born March 6, 1935, on the family farm in Wang Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was baptized at the parsonage in Granite Falls and confirmed at Wang Lutheran Church. She attended Rural School District 61 near Maynard. She graduated from the Granite Falls High School. Following high school Pat worked as a clerk for several years.
Pat was united in marriage with Dale Bakker on July 10, 1955, at Wang Lutheran Church. She worked for a bit at the Granite Falls Hospital and then moved over to Granite Falls Lutheran Church and continued there until her retirement. Pat was also a member of Sons of Norway and Lady Slipper Garden Club.
She is survived by her two sons: Greg Bakker of Granite Falls and Tim (Michelle) Bakker of Tega Cay, South Carolina; grandchildren Mathia Ehrenberg-Bakker, Kayla Bakker and Kyle Bakker; great grandchildren Brayden Strommer, Paisly Strommer, Tucker Jay Strommer and Chloe Bakker; brother James (Kathy) Hendrickson of Granite Falls and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, brother Don (Jeanette) Hendrickson and sister Marilyn (Russell) Tepfer.
