Linda (Lin) Elaine Dahl, age 73, of Granite Falls, Minnesota, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 14th, 2023, Mother’s Day.

Lin was born February 12, 1950 in Milnor, North Dakota to Harold and Lois Frigen. She attended Milnor High School, graduating in 1968. She attended St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse on August 27, 1971. Lin moved to Crookston, MN to pursue her nursing career at Riverview Hospital.

In Crookston, she met her husband to be, Ken Dahl. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1974 at Milnor Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Granite Falls where Lin continued to pursue her career as a Registered Nurse at both the Granite Falls Hospital and Manor. She started in medical/surgical and transitioned to long term care and geriatrics. Lin also spread her wealth of knowledge by teaching nursing classes through Minnesota West Community and Technical College.

They welcomed their daughters, Nicole Lynn and Kyrstin Lee. The family of four lived on a farm in rural Granite Falls where they were active members of 4-H. Lin loved to travel and the family would make yearly visits to Florida. Once the girls graduated, she and Ken continued to travel. They explored by air, land, and sea. Lin would book the vacation and Ken would oblige. She was also an impressive seamstress, sewing coordinating outfits for family and friends.

Lin retired in 2012 where she spent her free time trying to keep her husband in line and traveling to all of her grandchildren’s events. She loved the title of Grandma/Mia and her grandchildren did no wrong. She loved them to the moon and back and they thought the world of her. She attended cattle shows, tennis matches, plays, concerts, basketball games, and wrestling matches just to cheer on her grandkids. If there was an event, she was there. When she wasn’t chasing grandkids around, Lin flexed her green thumb with outdoor plants, flowers, and asparagus hunting. Lin’s summer weekends were spent at Lake Madison with her family where she always brought a fresh bag of asparagus for the grill.

In December 2019, Lin was diagnosed with aggressive ovarian cancer. Over the next 3 years, she was treated with many different forms of chemotherapy until all options were exhausted. She was able to remain in her home until just days before her passing. On her and Ken’s 49th Wedding Anniversary, she became a resident of the Granite Falls Nursing Home.

Left to honor her memory is her husband Ken; children Nicole (Jason) Weber of Pipestone, Kyrstin (Luke) Reimann-Doris of Ree Heights, South Dakota; grandchildren Olyvia Weber, Croix Reimann, Cannon Reimann, Cahill Doris, & Chapel Doris; sisters Betty Nicolai and Patsy (Francis) Listopad; in-laws Marilyn Dahl, Doug (Linda) Dahl, Kevin (Pam) Dahl, Grady (Amy) Dahl, & Cheryl (Everett) Bain along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Nick Reimann; parents Harold and Lois Frigen; in-laws Harold and LuElla Dahl; siblings Roger Frigen, Ronald Frigen, Diane Stanley, and Sandy Frigen; siblings-in-law Jerry Nicolai, Derrold Dahl, & Greg Dahl; niece Hilary Dahl & nephew Travis Frigen.
