L. Robert "Bob" Lee

LuVern Robert (Bob) Lee was born on October 13, 1928, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, near Clarkfield, MN; the son of Alfred and Emma (Holm) Lee. He was baptized on November 28, 1928 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 2, 1943, all at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. He attended school in both Clarkfield and Montevideo and as a young man, assisted his father in operating the family farm. He was united in marriage to Mildred G. ‘Millie’ Larson on December 18, 1949 in Renville.
Bob worked for a time on the railroad out of Willmar. After he and Millie married, they moved to their farm and raised their five children. He enjoyed attending the kids and grandkids sporting events and cheering them on. Bob liked to keep active, so after moving to town, he worked for Punt Realty and drove bus for Clark Transportation. He also worked as a crop/hail adjuster as he loved being outdoors. After he retired, in the fall he would wait for a call from Rollie or Eric to do fall tillage.
Bob was very active in the community and a member of several civic and church groups. He was voted as one of the first "Montevideo Impact Players". He served on the District #310 and ISD #129 school boards and also the MN School Boards Association of which he was president. He gave his time on the Jevnaker and Our Savior's Lutheran Church boards and was a member of both the Evening Lions and Noon Lions Clubs. He also volunteered for the United Way. When Bob was a resident of Brookside, he was on the Resident's Council as its chairman.
Bob was a kind, caring, hard-working man. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was called from this life on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, while a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home. He was 89 years of age.
He is survived by his children- David (Karen) Lee, Carol Lee, Barbara (Rowland) Boike, Duane (Jan) Lee, and Audrey (Roger) Ellefson; 8 grandchildren- Cary (Dawn) Landstrom, Jonathan (Jennifer) Lee, Benjamin Lee, Adam (Amy Sprout) Lee, Eric (Stacey) Boike, Nicole (Brad) Knight, Michael (Molly) Boike and Daniel (Shawna Ochs) Lee; granddaughter-in-law- Wendy Landstrom; step-grandchildren- Todd (Beth) Townsend and Amanda Sulkey; great grandchildren- Cameron Landstrom, Brendan, Halle & Chance Landstrom; Mackenzie & Wyatt Lee, Alexa Lee, Kaden & Carson Boike, Maliha Knight, Ellie & Drew Boike and Cash Lee; step great grandchildren- David Townsend, Madison & Blake Sulkey; brother in law- Warren Meyers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents; his wife Millie; his father- in-law; mother-in-law; grandson- Brady Landstrom; sisters- Adeline (Archie) Christenson & Evelyn Meyers and his brother- Merald (Evonne) Lee.
