John David Larson was born on January 14, 1924, in Graceville, MN, the son of Rudolph and Helen Larson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal faith and attended and graduated from high school in Montevideo, MN. John proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant stationed in India from 1942 � 1945. Following his honorable discharged, John returned to Montevideo. He then attended Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. After graduation, he again returned to Montevideo where he worked in and eventually assumed management of the family business- Larson Brothers Garage. In 1950, John was united in marriage to Nanet Warner in Perham, MN. In 1971, John took over management of Trailways Café in Montevideo, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Montevideo American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and in his spare time, enjoyed golfing, hunting, reading and spending time with his family at their lake cottage on Lake Amelia. In the early morning hours of Friday May 8, 2009, John was called from this life while in the loving presence of his family at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, MN. He was 85 years of age. Surviving family include his wife Nan of Montevideo, MN; his two sons Neil (& Debbie) Larson of Montevideo, MN and James (& Brenda) Larson of Alexandria, MN; his daughter Pamela Greden of Pine City, MN; his sister Helen J. Hausler of Hopkins, MN; grandchildren Lara Greden, Kristi Stanley, Ellen Bosl, Beth Dack, Karl Greden, Cal Larson, Leesa Larson & Madison Larson; great grandchildren Brynn Stanley, Raegan Stanley, Cooper Dack, Brody Dack, Nolan Bosl & Bruno Xavier Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters- Mary Warner and Frances Larson & son-in-law James Greden.
