Dale Spray

Dale Beckman Spray was born in Montevideo, MN on September 20, 1948 to Edward and Bertha Spray. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Dale received his education in the Milan Public Schools, graduating in 1966. He attended Willmar Community College for two years and graduated from Southwest State University in 1972 with a degree in physical education. He worked for the Farmers Home Administration for three years and then farmed until the time of his death. On June 13, 1970, he married Lorrie Rasmussen in Montevideo. Born to this union were three children: Amanda, Nathan and Eric. Dale was a member of the Army National Guard, American Legion Post 359, Kviteseid Lutheran Church, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Milan Rod & Gun Club and past Chippewa County Commissioner. After a four month battle with lung cancer, Dale passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital. He was 60 years old. He is survived by his wife Lorrie; daughter Amanda Spray(Ira Whitelow) & Kaleea; son Nathan (Heidi) Spray and their children Logan, Dylan and Carson; son Eric (Hillary) Spray and their unborn son; his mother Bertha Spray; siblings-Douglas Spray, Paul (Pattee) Spray, Eileen (Paul) Trelstad; siblings-in-law: Glen Hilden, Jill (Kenny) Sparby, Holly (Tom) Fox, Dale (Mary) Rasmussen, Brad (Lorraine) Rasmussen and numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his father Edward Spray in 1998; sister Barbara Hilden in 2006; father-in-law Ted Rasmussen in 1997 and mother-in-law Donna Rasmussen in 2009.
