Clifford Smith, age 67, of Watson, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his residence. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Clifford Henry Smith II was born on October 6, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Clifford Smith and Maxine Joy. Clifford grew up and attended school in Waco, Texas. At 17, he joined the United States Army and served for three years despite suffering an injury during training. In 1976 he was honorably discharged.
Clifford moved back to Texas and drove taxi for some time. He was also an auditor for Greyhound Bus for eight years before moving to Ocean Shores, Washington. In 1999, Clifford met Anita Heck and moved to Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
Clifford and Anita were married on October 18, 2002 in Lake Lillian. The couple made their home in Buffalo Lake and Kelliher before moving to Watson. Clifford and Anita enjoyed 25 years together.
Clifford was a gentle and loving man. He was always on the hunt for a new knickknack for the house. He loved all animals and wildlife and enjoyed listening to music. Christmas was Clifford’s favorite holiday, he liked the music and hanging colorful lights on the tree. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Anita Smith of Watson; children, Jennifer Garcia of Texas, Christina Smith of Texas, and David Smith of Florida; grandchildren, Liliana and Carlie; brother, Michael Smith of Texas; special friends, Harold Heck Jr. of Watson and Perry Heck of Kelliher; fur babies, Bailey, Pebbles, and Little Girl; as well as other relatives and friends.
Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Maxine; parents-in-law; nephews, Jeremy, Isaac, Jason, and Matthew; special friend, Geno.
